Abbey was purchased from Las Rocosa Kennels (the Hartnagle family) in April 2001, in Denver, Colorado.  

Abbey's sire was Fantasia's Kaleidoscope (blue merle) and the dam was Las Rocosa Madalion (black tri).

Nancy and I flew to Denver, stayed with the Hartnagle family for four days and flew back with our new baby.  We chose this kennel as a source for our Aussie based on the fact that the vast majority of books which are available to the public pertaining to Australian Shepherds breed have been written by either Joseph Hartnagle or his sister, Jeanne Joy Hartnagle-Taylor.  We wanted the best in our Aussie so we went to a family who have been part of Aussie history for over 50 years.  We were not disappointed...our Abbey is everything we dreamed she would be.

Abbey is without a doubt the kindest, gentlest, even-tempered companion anyone could ever hope for.  She is great at agility, playing ball and, like Brinkley, will swim all day.
